#dedocº voices at ISPAD 2023: Crystal’s vlog

This past October, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the International Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD) conference in-person in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, as a #dedoc° voice!

It was so amazing to meet and learn from other patient advocates from all around the world who are pioneering such innovative and impactful frameworks and organisations for people living with diabetes, from Sonia Nabeta Foundation Warriors in Uganda to exercise with T1D in India. Although the conference was very insightful, I still think I learned the most from my fellow patient advocates!

I am so grateful to #dedoc° for providing a platform to uplift my lived experience. I hosted an Instagram LIVE with Subtle Asian Diabetics and used my medical background to translate the scientific information from the conference into digestible, tangible information back to my community. You can hear more about my experiences on the Subtle Asian Diabetics Instagram: @subtleasiandiabetics

I created a short vlog on YouTube documenting my trip to Rotterdam and my experience at the conference that you can watch here!
